“New mines are found close to old mines” The Block A property in Detour (TWD 50%, Detour Gold 50%) is directly adjacent to the historic Detour Lake Mine which produced over 1.58 million oz’s of gold.
Recently completed 43-101 updated resource calculation on the 50/509 Block A Joint Venture at Detour Lake, with an in-pit gold resource of 1.2 million oz in the indicated category and 277,000 oz in the inferred category. The total global resource on the Company's Block A and Gowest properties is in excess of 4.0 million ounces gold at a cutoff grade of 0.5 g/t.
Over 65% of Canada’s gold production has historically come from the Abitibi Greenstone belt in Northern Ontario.
