TRADE WINDS CONTINUES TO INTERSECT NEAR SURFACE MINERALIZATION IN THE GOLD M ZONE ON ITS 50% BLOCK A PROPERTY AT DETOUR LAKE, ONTARIO.
Timmins, Ontario, May 29, 2007 - Trade Winds Ventures (TSX-V: TWD, FSE: TVR) is pleased to announce additional results from its 13,000 metre 2007 winter diamond drill program on Block A at Detour Lake, Ontario. Block A is being explored as a 50/50 Joint Venture between Detour Gold Corporation (TSX: DGC) (50%) and Trade Winds (50%), the operator during the exploration phase.
The Company has received results from six holes, Two holes on Section 15460E, TWDDH-192 and TWDDH-193, two holes on Section 15700E, TWDDH-199 and TWDDH-201, and two holes on Section 15740E, TWDDH-204 and TWDDH-206. These holes represent three of twelve step-out sections drilled near surface to determine the continuity of the M Zone structural corridor. The M Zone ultramafic and numerous other gold bearing structures were intersected in all holes, with gold mineralization ranging from approximately 50 metres to 86 metres below surface.
In March 2006, Trade Winds discovered new, near surface mineralization along the M Zone corridor (see news release May 16, 2006). Phase 1 of the 2007 winter drilling program was to explore the mineralization of this new zone along a 480 metre strike length between Sections 15380E and 15860E at 40 metres intervals, while Phase 2 focused on in-fill drilling of the near surface M Zone mineralization from Sections 15900E to 16740E. Drilled on a 40 meter by 40 meter spacing, both vertically and horizontally, these new holes are part of the drilling done to the west of the area encompassing the previously published NI 43-101 indicated resource estimate.
As well, diamond drill hole TWDDH-193 returned 31.8 grams/tonne over 1.06 metres from a hanging wall quartz zone. TWDDH-193 also returned 3.90 grams/tonne over 4.50 metres and 1.14 grams/tonne over 3.90 metres from the hanging wall M Zone ultramafic unit. TWDDH-193 also returned 5.93 grams/tonne gold over 5.80 metres and 1.66 grams/tonne gold over 0.64 metres in the footwall M Zone ultramafic unit. TWDDH-193 also returned 3.48 grams/tonne over 0.84 metres from a footwall quartz zone.
Previous deeper drilling on Section 15460E also returned results as follows:
Diamond drill hole TWDDH-041 returned 616.5 grams/tonne over 0.50 metres, from a hanging wall quartz zone. TWDDH-041 also returned 1.35 grams/tonne gold over 1.00 metre from the footwall M Zone ultramafic unit. Diamond drill hole TWDDH-042 returned 75.15 grams/tonne over 0.50 metres from a hanging wall quartz zone. TWDDH-042 also returned 1.98 grams/tonne over 11.00 metres from the hanging wall M Zone ultramafic unit.
Diamond drill hole TWDDH-095 returned 47.3 grams/tonne over 1.11 metres from a hanging wall quartz zone. TWDDH-095 also returned 2.35 grams/tonne over 0.96 metres from the M Zone ultramafic unit. Diamond drill hole TWDDH-096 returned 2.59 grams/tonne over 0.97 metres from a hanging wall quartz zone. Due to mechanical issues, TWDDH-096 was shut down before reaching the M Zone. Diamond drill hole TWDDH-097 returned 7.54 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre from a hanging wall quartz zone.
Section 15460E has been drilled from near surface to 380 metres below surface by a total of six holes. This demonstrates the significance, size and scope of the M Zone corridor, which is open in all directions.
On Section 15700E, diamond drill hole TWDDH-199 returned 2.60 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre from a hanging wall quartz zone. TWDDH-199 also returned 2.55 grams/tonne gold over 6.00 metres, 1.99 grams/tonne over 1.17 metres, and 3.95 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre from the hanging wall M Zone ultramafic unit. TWDDH-199 also returned 4.75 grams/tonne gold over 1.00 metres, 3.53 grams/tonne over 1.10 metre, 2.21 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre, and 5.08 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre from footwall quartz zones.
Previous drilling on section 15700E beneath the above mentioned holes also returned the following results:
Diamond drill hole TWDDH-047 returned 9.32 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre, and 25.30 grams/tonne over 0.87 metres from hanging wall quartz zones. TWDDH-047 also returned 4.40 grams/tonne over 6.00 metres, including 22.80 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre, from a hanging wall quartz zone. Also returned was 1.63 grams/tonne over 1.16 metres, from the footwall M Zone ultramafic unit. Diamond drill hole TWDDH-054 returned 3.18 grams/tonne over 2.70 metres from the hanging wall M Zone ultramafic unit.
On Section 15740E, diamond drill hole TWDDH-204 returned 2.47 grams/tonne over 12.00 metres, including 12.80 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre, from the hanging wall M Zone ultramafic unit. TWDDH-204 also returned 1.22 grams/tonne over 1.95 metres from a footwall quartz zone.
Above that, diamond drill hole TWDDH-206 returned 3.25 grams/tonne over 1.00 metre, 2.64 grams/tonne over 2.00 metres, and 1.56 grams/tonne over 2.00 metres from hanging wall quartz zones. TWDDH-206 also returned 2.37 grams/tonne over 2.00 metres from a footwall quartz zone.
Drill results are typically reported for four zones that carry mineralization, the hanging wall quartz veins, the M Zone hanging wall and footwall zones, and the quartz veins occurring on the footwall side of the structural corridor.

Golder Associates Ltd. (Golder) was commissioned by Trade Winds to provide an independent Mineral Resource Estimate in conformance with the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve definitions referred to in the National Instrument NI 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. The resource estimation work was completed in October 2006 and is based on information contained within the Technical Report prepared by Golder on Trade Winds behalf and filed on SEDAR, which, using a cut-off of 1.0 grams/tonne, outlines an indicated resource of 14,158,000 tonnes grading 1.77 grams Au/t containing 804,321 ounces of gold and an inferred mineral resource of 24,796,000 tonnes grading 1.88 g Au/t containing 1,499,552 ounces of gold.
